More Painted Fabric Fun

Painting Cotton Jersey Knit for Scarves

Ruined to Restyled:  My white t turned pink in the wash and rescued wtih paint
We used the machine to sew simple ruffled scarves from their creations.
We worked on more painted fabric projects at camp this week including these cute scarves made from cotton jersey knit fabric strips. We wet the fabric and then painted different designs and streaks with watered down acrylic paint. This helps to spread the colors and keep the fabric soft. Too much paint makes a non wearable, scratchy fabric so keep it watered. If you wait until your fabric is dry, you can wash it safely to soften it as well. The color will last and last. Cool eh?

Here is some fabric art I created using the left over colored fabrics.
